We encourage interested families to book a tour of our beautiful facility on the Selkirk Waterfront Development with our Administrative Head. Please contact us at 250-384-3414 or via email at office@selkirkmontessori.ca to make arrangements. Children are more than welcome to accompany their parents on the tour. This is a good opportunity to see the school in operation, to ask any questions you might have about Selkirk Montessori and about the Montessori philosophy.
Another wonderful opportunity to see the school is during our annual Open House, held in late January or early February. Families are able to tour the school, visit classrooms and meet the teachers and staff.
We welcome expressions of interest throughout the year at Selkirk Montessori School. If you wish to put your child on our waitlist, please complete the form (see Forms & Fees) and return it to us with the $50 non-refundable fee.
In January each year, we ask our current families to let us know if they are returning for the next September. We also ask them to register any young siblings at that time. At the end of the month, we are able to put together preliminary class lists and determine what space is available for waitlisted children.
In late February or early March, the Administrative Head will contact waitlisted families (starting with our kindergarten and elementary/middle school students) to determine if they are interested in registering their child/ren for September. Once the child is registered, a package of information is mailed out to the family and payments are due to reserve the space.
Our receptionist will book an appointment for new families to meet with the Administrative Head to go over the Selkirk Montessori Family Handbook, the Office Manager to review emergency procedures and policies and the accounting coordinator to pay tuition and fees. In late August, teachers will contact new parents to set up meetings with them before the start of school.
