Montessori Music Education

 
 
 
Music specialist Kristen Birley (a Selkirk Montessori graduate!) takes Kindergarten/Preschool and grade 1-3 students for a comprehensive music program.  She also leads the junior and senior choirs and produces the annual Selkirk Montessori musical!

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
In grades 4 and 5, music specialist Brooke Maxwell teaches the students a variety of percussion instruments, recorders and guitars. Brooke also teaches band for students in grades 6 -8.
 
 




Kindergarten/Preschool students participate in musical celebrations in their classrooms, during assemblies and at a year-end concert in June.  All elementary and middle school students take part in assemblies, concerts and performances throughout the year.
