The Musical Date: Wednesday May 9thh, 2012 Venue: Selkirk Montesso ori School Gym Time: • Show #1 – 10:30 a.mm. – 11:30 a.m. (Parents welcome t to attend) • Show #2 -6:30 p.m m. -7:30 p.m. o *Arrive at 5:45 pp.m. in your classroom* Celebrate the History of f Rock and Roll! In the beginning there was a R ROCK! Who put the rock into rock and roll? FFind out with this fantastic original musical. We e’ll take you on a trip back in time where you''ll discover how different rock styles developed d through the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s. Tickets: $8 for adults. Kiids FREE! K Tickets can be pre-ordered in Ap pril – Order forms will be available in the office. All proceeds will go to support o our music program. Costumes To keep uniformity and create a dramatic visual impact, Grade 1-4 students will wear a costume consisting o of a custom made shirt along with other rock and roll accessories. The co ost of the t-shirt is $15.00. The “Rock” t- shirt will later provide the studen nts with a well deserved souvenir of their performance. Costume Requirements On the reverse side is a list of all l your costume needs. We need the bolded costum me items to come from home. We will try to organize boorrowing from other classmates. Please make sure any items brou ught from home are labeled with your son/daughte er’s name. Please bring in your costume items by Mondaay, April 30th . Parent Volunteers We are in need of some parents to help with costumes, sets, props, make up, etc. Please contact me if you are interested. • Prop Helpers/Donations (help us find or borrow!): o 50’s, 60’s, 70’s themed props (ex. Disco ball, Caveman/woman items, etc.) • Set Design/Painting Help: o Painting/Creating simple backdrops for the stage. • Costume Helpers: Skills required – cutting and minimal sewing. • Make-up Artists (morning AND evening performances): o Make-up skills include – basic make up. • Media Help: (We need your videotaping equipment!) o Videotaping of both shows (10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.) o Transferring video to DVD o Copies of DVD (DVDs provided) Performance Information – Wednesday May 9th, 2012 • 5:45 p.m. – All students to arrive at their classrooms to put on costumes & make-up. • The play is approximately one hour in length. Seating will be available at a first come, first served basis. • Tickets: Will be in the office for purchase April 11th, 2012. • Please DO NOT use flash cameras as they can distract the young performers. The cast will gladly pose for photos at the end of the play.
