Selkirk Montessori School is operated by the Pacific Montessori Society, a registered nonprofit organization founded in 1980. We're officially registered with the provincial government and recognized by the federal government as a charitable organization.
What makes our structure special? Every parent in good standing is automatically a member of the Society. That means you have a voice in how the school is governed and the opportunity to help shape its future. Our Board of Directors is elected by members at the annual general meeting, and board members serve three-year terms on a volunteer basis. If you're passionate about our community and want to get involved at the governance level, members of the Society are always welcome to run for office.
This parent-driven model has guided Selkirk for over four decades. It keeps our school accountable to the families we serve and ensures that decisions are made with our students' best interests at heart.
