Outdoor Education

Connecting students with nature through exploration, adventure, and environmental stewardship.

Our location on the Selkirk Waterfront isn't just a backdrop. It's part of the curriculum. Outdoor education at Selkirk gives students regular opportunities to learn beyond the classroom walls, whether that's exploring the Gorge, building skills in nature, or simply spending time outside.

These experiences help students develop confidence, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the natural world. From nature walks and hands-on science to team challenges and seasonal adventures, outdoor education connects what students learn inside with the world around them. It's learning the way Maria Montessori envisioned: active, engaged, and rooted in real experience.
